Q: What is BSET?
A: Barnett Sensitivity Technique [BSET ] is a neurologic and energetic approach used to re-program the hypothalamic response to substances which cause negative end results in the human body, whether allergy or sensitivity.
Q: What is the difference between an allergy and sensitivity?
A: Allergy- a defensive response of the immune system in which the antigen is attacked by immunoglobulins specific to said antigen. Sensitivity- a defensive response of the autonomic nervous system to a perceived threat.
Q: Is BSET classified as an allergy treatment?
A: No. BSET is not a treatment for allergies. Allergy treatment is reserved for Allergists and Medical Doctors who specialize in Immunology. BSET is far more dynamic than merely attempting to control the amount of immunoglobulin available for allergic reactions. Allergists can do very little about multiple allergies and absolutely nothing about sensitivities! We are unconcerned with the immunologic approach due to its limitations.
Q: Can you help me understand the process?
A: Perhaps a brief neuro-immunology lesson would be appropriate. Our bodies use neurologic and energetic means to identify everything we come into contact with. Whether through skin, mouth, or nose, the energy signature (resonance) of the substance is taken via the meridians and afferent neurons to the hypothalamus of the midbrain. (The hypothalamus is the center of control for all autonomic nervous system functions.)
Instantaneously, the signature is identified, compared to a list of “enemies”, and action is initiated.
What action? Well, that depends on the identification. If identified as an enemy, the action is twofold.
1 ) The proper response to the substance identification is initiated.
2 ) The defense system of the body is initiated.
Simultaneously, a signal goes to the cells of origin commanding a histamine release for containment; a signal goes to the liver ordering the release of hormones into the blood coded with instructions for further defense (if an allergy, this is where the immunologlobulins get turned on); a signal goes to the adrenal glands ordering an epinephrine release to speed up heart rate, respiration, and muscle action, as well as a cortisol release for damage control; and a signal goes to the kidneys ordering fluid retention to act as a solvent for the aftermath of reaction. If identification is “not an enemy”, then only the proper response to the substance is initiated. For instance, dairy is eaten, identified as dairy, not an enemy, proper enzyme releases are initiated for digestion and utilization of the quantity of dairy consumed, nothing else. Lesson over.
Q: So, if BSET is a neurologic and energetic approach used to re-program the hypothalamic response to substances which cause negative end results in the human body, whether allergy or sensitivity, then how does it work?
A: As with all great discoveries, it is simple in action and complicated in explanation! The practitioner certified by The Institute for Advanced Integrative Medicine to perform BSET, will utilize five different “access points” to test the hypothalamic response to substances challenged through central nervous system reflex. The practitioner will then use laser loading, laser acupuncture, and ganglion initiation to cause the nervous system to begin the re-programming task. After the processing time, normally 10 hours, you will then be “cleared” of any imbalances.
Q: What do you mean by the processing time?
A: There will be a processing time that the practitioner will test you for. This is the amount of time it will take your brain to contact your ten trillion body cells and change their response to the substances treated for.
Q: What do I do during the processing time?
A: During that time, it is essential that you do not come into contact with the substances you are being re-programmed for! For instance, if minerals are on your list and you wash your hands or take a shower etc., you may absorb enough minerals to halt the process. The processing time will vary per individual. The average will be 10 hours. Any time after that, you will see the practitioner again the next day so that they can “clear” your system of any residual effects of the process and re-test your response to the substances, ensuring a successful re-programming.
Q: Does it hurt?
A: There are no needles or any other painful processes in this technique. You may experience some discomfort due to the toxins your body will release in the process. Drink more distilled water if this happens. Even if your normal reaction is one of anaphylaxis, you will not exceed fifty percent of your normal response during your processing time. Then, your symptoms will abate.
Q: How many treatments does it take?
A: There are three basic categories of BSET re-programming; food, environmental, and chemical. Each one is performed separately. The number of substances re-programmed in each session will depend on the capacity of your nervous system. The average person processes up to forty items at a time. Therefore, it depends on how many items your body can process in each category.
Q: Is there anything that will mess it up after the treatment is over?
A: BSET is a neurologic and energetic technique, therefore major concussions, electrocution, prolonged deep anesthesia, and intense emotional traumas may interfere in the longevity of the technique. In that event just return to the practitioner and have BSET performed again.
Q: Will I form more sensitivities after having BSET done?
A: Heavy metal toxins, parasites, yeast, and liver toxicity can all cause secondary sensitivities. It is recommended that each of these potentials be tested and corrected to ensure your continued freedom from sensitivity reactions. It is also a good idea to be checked for any new sensitivity when your practitioner performs your yearly health scan. However, most clients of BSET have never needed to be re-treated. That is powerful since Dr. Barnett has been providing BSET since 1997 and has treated over 1,000 patients himself!
Q: How long does it take?
A: Your exam and treatment will take from 30min to 60min. Then, after the processing time is over, the clearing appointment will take on average 10-15 min.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: Each category of BSET is performed for $300.00 US. That includes the clearing. Check out other techniques, you will find most cost in excess of $1,000 US for less than 40 substances and require a treatment for every substance; costing you excessive time and money!
Q: How long do I have to wait between each category?
A: It is recommended that you have a week in between categories to clear toxins, for your comfort. However, if you are traveling from another city or country, it can be arranged to do them in rapid succession. This will need to be discussed with the practitioner ahead of time.
Q: How can I be sure that I am getting BSET?
A: Accept no imitations! There are those without the proper skills, training, and understanding that try to imitate BSET. Have the practitioner show you their certification from The Institute for Advanced Integrative Medicine.
